2012 Buick LaCrosse Review and Specs
The 2012 Buick LaCrosse replaces its gas engine with only one augmented by an electric motor to claim a Boost of 25 percent of the fuel economy and a rating of class-topping 25/37-mpg city/highway. Nicknamed eAssist, Buick calls a “electrification of light“, not a hybrid and says that it points to the future of vehicles powered by an internal combustion engine. The LaCrosse 2012 also will continue to offer a traditional V-6 engine – probably at the same price as the eAssist four cylinders. This beautiful, elegant four-door will available with front and all-wheel drive and is likely to remain the best-selling model of Buick.
2012 Buick Regal LaCrosse will not change in the basic dimensions or proportions, regardless of whether it receives updates styling. Any changes would fall under the heading midcycle refresh, and it rarely reaches more subtle tweaks to the grille, bumper, headlamps and taillamps.
Each 2012 Buick LaCrosse again sport’s chromed waterfall grille and chromed dual exhaust tips. Major styling differences will probably be limited to wheel design. 2012 LaCrosse CXS – or equivalent – again should use 18-inch chrome alloy wheels, CXL 17-inch alloys and CX 17 tracks steel wheels. Buick could continue this model-centric approach with 2012 LaCrosse or use introduction of eAssist-powertrain to begin its liquidation.
In addition, the system uses a bolts essentially eAssist compact electric motor to power batteries, 2.4-liter gas four-cylinder was transferred from 2011 LaCrosse productivity figures remain the horsepower and torque, but 172 lbs and 182 electric motor can help with up to 15 horsepower for a short period.
To maximize traction in all conditions, 2012 LaCrosse will again offer a basic all-wheel drive (AWD) operates regularly at the front – wheels but automatically shuttles energy rearward when sensors detect front-tire slip. Many other cars in this class – both front and rear-drive — also offer AWD. We expect the AWD to return in 2012 LaCrosse as a possibility available only with the engine V-6.
With the forward V-6 powertrain, wait for the 2012 Buick LaCrosse to again be evaluated 17/27 mpg with the front wheels in 16/26 when equipped with AWD.
2012 Buick LaCrosse Price and Release Date
2012 Buick LeCrosse should be in showrooms by summer 2011. Sources said Buick would give 2012 LaCrosse same basic price covering eAssist Powertrain or driving a V-6. That would suggest a starting price of around $ 32,000 before settings. Add a 2012 LaCrosse AWD with V-6 engine should cost an additional $ 2,100 or so again.
