The 2012 Buick LaCrosse replaces its gas engine with only one augmented by an electric motor to claim a Boost of 25 percent of the fuel economy and a rating of class-topping 25/37-mpg city/highway. Nicknamed eAssist, Buick calls a “electrification of light“, not a hybrid and says that it points to the future of vehicles powered by an internal combustion engine.
