2014 Porsche Macan Review and Specs
Porsche is ready to launch the all-new small luxury crossover SUV Porsche Macan. This small crossover SUV is set to make its launch at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March. Macan will placed under its brother Porsche Cayenne.
The 2014 Macan design is based from Audi Q5 platform but its have a different dynamic proposition from Q5.
The name of “Macan” it self taking from Indonesian language that have a meaning of Tiger. It also will replace the current code name “Cajun” (Cayenne Junior).
The Macan has tested to the public places for twice. The first test was held in October last year. The second test was held on snow-covered road for the winter test in January 2013.
The 2014 Macan will powered by several different engines. Macan twin-turbo edition will powered by 3.0 liters twin-turbo V6 engine that generate 370 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. The Diesel variant will carry a 2.0 liters Turbo-Diesel engine that produce 190 horsepower.
While the standard model equipped with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine to generate 220 horsepower. The Macan S model will generate 290 horsepower with 3.0 liter standard V6 engine.
The rumors also said that Macan will offered with a hybrid engine option.
Additional details of 2014 Macan are not announced yet until its official launch date.
2014 Porsche Macan Price and Release Date
Porsche will start to produce Macan in Leipzig in late of 2013. This small crossover expect to go on showroom early after its start production date. Base price for the all-new Macan is not announced yet but we expect its price will start from arround $50,000.
