2014 Toyota Furia Review and Specs
2014 Toyota Furia is the next generation of Corolla. Toyota is on a mission to inject a little life into its lineup, so it figures Corolla is a good place to start. It’s been a sales winner for decades, but never because it looked like anything you would want to drive. “The Corolla Furia Concept is an early indicator of where our compact car design may lead in the future”– Toyota’s Bill Fay said.
Drawing on Toyota’s sharp new family styling, the Corolla Furia shows off narrow blacked-out headlights that merge into a slender grille, flanked by tall side intakes and a wide front air dam. The profile of the Furia has been kept comparatively simple, although Toyota has worked in a two-tone element with a grey lower section running from the front doors and into the rear bumper.
This time around Toyota is hoping to make the car more interesting than average of economy sedan class. It raked the windshield back a little more and stretched the wheelbase. Then the designers of Toyota gave the C-pillars a new look by bending the beltline up, which is absolutely effective, at least in terms of making it look different from the current Corolla.
Toyota officials did not say anything about the mechanical specs of the next Corolla during the big debut, but that’s probably because they are not expected to change much. The carmaker wants a more interesting Corolla but it’s not going to stray too far from the proven formula. Expect to see something closer to the production model later this year.
